Reed City man buys TC company TRAVERSE CITY -- A Reed City industrialist has acquired Sheffer Collet Co.. here. Oscar Rancour, president and owner of Rancour Machine in Reed City, acquired the 60-employe chuck and work-holding device manufacturing plant through Rancour Development Co. ,, Rancour Machine, a screw machine shop employs 44 people and has Reed City for 15 years. The company was in the Detroit area for approximately approximately 12 years. Rancour, a resident of the South Boardman area, will take over as president of Sheffer Collet here. Former president Edwin W. Budnik plans to retire. The acquisition was announced Wednesday. No details of the acquisition were available today. Rancour announced that' the policies of the prior management would continue, continue, including the continued location of the plant in Traverse City."
