Sgt. Prueher First Local Man to Receive DSC; Award Ceremony on Radio Tonight For his outstanding bravery, courage and devotion to duty which inspired his fellow soldiers, contributed materially to the^success the^success of his. company's mission and reflected great credit upon himself and the military service, Firit Sgl. Robert A. Prueher, son of Mrs. George Prueher, Sr., 416 " Cornelia Cornelia street, anct husband of Jeanne Kuehne Prueher, 502 S. Second street, will be presented with the Distinguished Service Cross in the studios- of WCL.O at 8:15 o'clock tonight.. The ceremony ceremony will be broadcast. Sst. Pruelier, one of four brothers brothers in service, two of whom nave lost their lives, is the first Janesville Janesville man to be awarded the coveted coveted medal in World war 11. Similar awards previously have been made to three other Rock county men, Stagg Sgt. John R. MacGowan Shopiere, Sgt. Howard J. Weiss. Edgerton, whose parents resided in Janesville for a short time during the war, and Lt. George Hess, Edgerton; Edgerton; also to one WalwortU count y man, S; Sgl. Francis O'Donne'll, Whitewater. The medal will be presented to Sgt. Prueher for outstanding performance performance of duty in the battle J'oi Okinawa when he succeeded in bringing much needed ammunition to troops at the front despite the SOT. ROBERT A.
