Ferret Legging, 1972 - Man Keeps Rodents Down Pants 2 Minutes LONDON...
Man Keeps Rodents Down Pants 2 Minutes LONDON (UPI) -Some daredevils go over Niagara Falls in barrels. Paul Wills puts ferrets down his trousers. Wills, 29, kept two of the vicious, sharp-toothed weasellike rodents down his pants for two minutes recently, claiming a world record for the feat. BRITAIN'S "Guinness Book of Records," which chronicles mankind's best endeavors in assorted fields, said Wills' record will appear in its 1973 edition providing no one else beats it before publication. Wills, a brawny textile machinist, dropped a pair of ferrets down his trousers before a crowd of customers and television cameras at the Basset Arms in his hometown of Cambourne, in England's southernmost county of Cornwall. H i s wife winced, other women in the audience gasped and giggled and the men shuddered as the frantic ferrets squirmed to get out. After the feat, Wills wiped his brow with relief and said that during the two minutes, timed by a man with a stopwatch, the ferrets "bit through my trousers but not through anything else." Conforming to his own set of rules that no protective clothing be worn other than that which might be considered normal Wills was clad in underpants and loose-fitting trousers secured with twine to keep the ferrets from falling out. WILLIS, who keeps ferrets to ferret out rabbits from bur-rows near his home, said he Overdose Kills Wife Of Kennedy Aide PALM BEACH Rebecca Ryan, 30-year-old wife of an aide to the Kennedy family, died yesterday at Good Sa' maritaii Hospital in West Palm Beach, the apparent vie tim of a drug overdose, au thorities said. Palm Beach police said they were investigating the incident. ".We don't suspect foul play," Dr. Dortch said. He added that he did not believe an autopsy would be performed. He said he did not know how large the overdose was. had to have three stitches in his hand when one of them bit him during a practice-run. recently. . "If it had been anything other than his finger I don't know what I would have done," said his wife, Judith.
