There has never been any discussion of such a merger among the responsible executives of these companies. The rumors rut doubt aris du to th fact that the clerical forces of the Dick son and Eddv Interests and . the Scran ton Coal company have been united in the interest - of economy, but the operating forces and the corporate structure of each oi tnese tnree companies are as entirely oisunci as tney nave oeen in me sasc The East Bear Ridse Collierv comnnnv ana me Wyoming vauey collieries company are entirely separate companies and are not involved in tne above cn a nee. There Is also no foundation to the rumor that James L. Cooney has resigned as president oi tne scranton coal comnanv. He Is still president of that company and I bar no knowledge of any Intention oa his part to resign. I have , already stated to a Times reporter that James H. Pierce & Co. Is making an examination ot Storra mine on its own responsibility and without relation to any of the above named companies.
