Tuesday event Open house set by The Young Women's Christian Association mil hold an open house from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at YWCA headquarters, 401 N. Carancahua. The open house will conclude with a discussion, "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About the YWCA," during which guests and members will be able to hear from board members and officers and to ask questions. "This event is being planned by the board as an opportunity for the entire community to become familiar with the total functioning of this United Fund agency," C a r o l y n Swearingen, a member of the planning committee, said. During the open house each room at the YWCA will be used for demonstrations of the organization's programs. Kathryn Williams and Selia Simms of the Racial Justice Task Force will show their group's work; the Clairelane Council, headed by Trinidad Leva, will have a demonstration of the work of women from the Clairelane Center; the Ecology Committee, headed by Kay Huestis and Ann Crow will show a film on ecol- City groups Soviet Jewry rally set A communitywide "Rally on Behalf of Soviet Jewry" will be sponsored by seven organizations rally on Dec. 6 will be the Rev. Jack Heacock, district superintendent of the United ogy; and the Y-Teen Committee, headed by L u 1 o u Green, will have a demonstration drama workshop. The Lorelettes will demonstrate their precision swimming and a gymnastics team will be practicing. These groups are guided by the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Committee headed by Marie Pennington. In t h e Y's second-floor lounge, refreshments will be served by the Residence Committee, led by Jean Batcheldor. Y residents will be hostesses. A residence room will be open for inspection. Othar committees which will have demonstrations include the Public Affairs Committee, headed by Virginia Hartsell and the Personnel Committee of Lucy McCracken. Y-Teens Leah Sweringen, Janet Caldwell, Annette Annen and Patricia Etheridge will greet guests on the Y building's front porch.
