PLEAMADEBY MARYM'ELROY Tor Own Peace of Mind,' Victim Asks Governor To Spare Kidnaper - - --.V- ;•>-.-. ; : JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., April 26— MP) —Miss Mary McElroy pleaded with Gov. Guy B. Park today today to spare the life of Walter H. McGee, leader of the gang that kidnaped her for $30,000 ransom nearly two years ago. Virtually all legal avenues of escaping the gallows had been closed closed to McGee when the 26-year-old daughter of H. F. McElroy, city manager of Kansas City, visited the governor—in behalf, she said, of both kidnaper and victim. "In pleading for Walter McGee's life, I am pleading for my own peace of mind", said the tall brunette brunette in her formal appeal to the executive. She was accompanied here by her father. She expressed belief that the "full force of the law has been emphasized" emphasized" and that McGee's case would serve as a warning to others. (Continued on Page Six)
