FRIEND OF THE BLIND DEAD. Richard R. Ferry, Himself Afflicted, Founded Library for the Sightless. Richard Randall Ferry, originator and founder of the New York Free Circulating Library for the Blind, died yesterday at his home. 740 St. Nicholas Avenue. He is survived by his widow and two sons, Clark B. Ferry of 355 West 143th Street, and Theodore Leroy Ferry, a wholesale dealer In woolen goods. Mr. Ferry was 71 years old. He was born In Bethel, Conn.,' and came to this cltv about 30 years ago. He was a manufacturer of hats, but In 1891 he lost his eyesight and retired from business. He founded the library which now clr-culattes clr-culattes clr-culattes 1O.0O0 volumes for the blind and which also provides music and musical instructors for those who have lost their sight.
