HCC Faculty Defeats Vets In Benefit Basketball Game The Highland Community College College Faculty continued its domination domination over the Vets Club in basketball basketball by scoring a 72-67 victory victory at the Aquin High School gym Wednesday night. It was the sixth annual Faculty-Vets Faculty-Vets benefit game and the sixth straight victory for the Faculty. Terry Miller carried the scoring scoring load for the Faculty with 29 points, and Greg Rodriguez netted netted 10. Phil Gordon scored nine points Don Tune added five, Roger Roger Kreuzer and Woody Fulkerson Fulkerson netted four each, John McClellan and E. Rawson collected collected three points apiece, Larry Hoffer and Lanis Linker each contributed two points, with Jim McDearmon adding one. Leading Vets' Scorer Wayne Conroy was the leading point-getter for the Vets with 19 points, while Tom May netted 11. Lamont Gaston scored nine, Jerry Boos netted six, Bruce Tidwell added four, Mike Kaiser, Kaiser, Roger Loper and Jim Springer collected three points each, Lonnie Green, Karl Hess, Doug Ledford and Dennis Marsh scored two points each, and Dean Edgerton added one. The Vets Club stayed with the Faculty for the first half, trailing trailing 28-27, but couldn't contain the high-scoring Miller in the second stanza. At halftime, Jerry Boos, president president of the Vets Club, presented a $1,300 trophy case to Ken Borland, Borland, president of. HCC. The trophy trophy case was presented in memory memory of David R. Krueger, a former former Highland student who was killed in Vietnam on March 17, 1970.
