Addicks-Barker 4-H Receives "Most Progressive" Award The Addicks-Barker 4-H Club won "The Most Progressive Club Award at the Harris County 4-H banquet on Tuesday evening, September 15th. Several members from Addicks-Barker 4-H Club received project awards at the banquet. The members are: Claire Smolik, clothing; Becky Liere, dairy; Kathy Kolbe, dress revue; Rian Smolik, foods; Lucy. Kopp, junior leadership; and Blain Smolik, wildlife. The Harris County 4- H Awards Banquet sponsored by the San Jacinto Kiwanis Club was held at the Greek Orthodox Church. The 4-H members from Addicks-Barker turned in a total of 40 project record forms in July. The results are 15 blue ribbons, 15 red ribbons and 10 white ribbons. All of these members are to be congratulated on this fine work. When a member re* ceives a blue ritibon at County on a project record this entitles them to complete the national report. Then it goes to District and if a winner, on to State and National In junior leadership, Lucy Kopp was first at County and at District she was in the Blue Ribbon category with only -one girl ahead of her. There was a fashion show and shopping tour at Foley's and technique in making a garment at the extension auditorium. Those attending from our club were Gail Moers, Tassy Giddens, Lucy Kopp and Claire Smolik, Harris County 4-H Day Camp was held August 18th, at the Arco Recreation Center. A fun filled day was planned with a very interesting program, recreation and swimming. Tassy Giddens, Claire Smolik and Loren Kopp can well account for that.
