of town and while fell !0 of fitted George D. ICuoxn. George D. Roosa. an old resident Sullivan county, died Saturday night at the residence of his daughter, Ezra F. Calkin, at Cochecton aged 85 years. Death was due to old The deceased was born in Bloomingburg. Bloomingburg. He learned the tanner's trade and lator followed farming at Bothcl. Sullivan county. In J857 he removed to Middletown and a short time engaged in the grocery business in store'now occupied by Osburn under the ll-m name of Abbott Koosu. After a residence here -of 10 years he removed to New Haven, During his residence in that city wife while on a visit to Cochecton Mr. Koosa then removed to Middletown Middletown and made his home with his nephew, Mr. James F. Rooha, for year. From Middletown the deceased went to Cochecton and has since his home with his daughter, Mrs. kin. His wife's maiden name was Townley. Two children survive him, Mary, wife of Exra F. Calkin, of Cochecton, and Mrs. Charles Irwin, of San Francisco. One sister is also living, Mrs. N. S. Hammond, of Monticello. Tho late Charles B. Roosa, father of Mr. James F. Roosa, a well known resident of Middletown, a brother of tho deceased. The funeral will occur Tuesday p. m. at Cochecton.
