MT. CARROLL CAMPAIGN THIS WEEK; GOOD PROGRESS MADE HERE Savanna was first of the cities of the L*. S. Grant Area of Boy Scouts to raise its share of funds with which to secure a Scout Executive and to maintain headquarters in Freeport. This is tho report brought back by E. I,. Campbell who drove to Mt. Carroll nnd Savanna in the interests of the Boy Scout campaign. Mr. R. G. Fuller, n. vice president of the Council stated that Savanna had not only raised their allotment but had gono over the needed amount and had a nest egg On next year's requirements. He also stated that members of the Council in Savanna aro ready to come to Freeport to assist In selecting a full time Scout Executive as soon as Freeport is ready At Mt. Carroll, Judge O. M. Grovo, a member of the Executive Board, stated that a mooting would be held there this evening and that no difficulty is anlclpflted. Last year, ail that was necessary was for a notice to appear in the local paper, which took charge of receiving contributions, and citizens went to the newspaper office and in that way it was not oven necessary to go out and solicit funds., This is quite a pleasing contrast to the great amount of work a few men have been doing hero. Lanark also expects to raise their tuiiount easily, and -it Galena Judge Heer had telephoned to President A. J. Stukenberg that he would send a check for the amount Galena is to raise whenever it is wanted.
