Earl Winkler Mt Vernon Earl Logan Winkler, 81, of Route 1, Brownsville Road, Mt. Vernon, died at 3:22 a.m. yesterday at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Hughey-Pulley Funeral Home, with Rev. Thomas Harper officiating. Burial will be in Opdyke cemetery. Friends may call at the Hughey-Pulley Funeral home after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Winkler was born in Belle Rive on Feb. 22, 1890, the son of Marshall and Dicey (Flanagan) Winkler. He was married on Jan. 27, 1931 to Pearl Loss who survives. He was employed as a watchman at the T. J. Moss Tie Company. In addition to his wife he is survived by seven sons, James, Marshall, Frank, Charles, Billy, Robert and Luther Winkler, all of Mt. Vernon; four daughters, Mrs. Katherine Essley, Texico, Mrs. Shirley Spraggins, Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Francis Taaka, Mt. Vernon, and Mrs Agnes Harris, Woodlawn; 28 grandchildren; and one brother, Luther Winkler, Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by two half brothers.
