SCHOOL DEBATE VICTORS NAMED Students From Four Idaho Towns Win Honors as Orators POCATELLO, Idaho — Students from Preston, Malad, Blackfoot and two from Pocatello high school were victorious in the Fifth district declamation contests conducted at Frazier hall, University of Idaho, southern branch, Monday afternoon. The winners were: Oratory, Samuel Evans, Preston, first; Louella Richards, Malad, second; extemporaneous,-Dorothy Ekstrom, Malad, first; Preston Wurston, Preston, second; dramatic reading, Catherine Kreft, Pocatello, first; Christie Taylor, Preston, second; humorous, Clarence Kuhn, Pocatello, first; Gladys Soren son, Malad, second.' Blackfoot's debate squad, Merrill Sarwood, Charles Neumann, Alex Holand and Harry Whiitin, affirmative; Doris Clarke, Walker Rich, Hyrum Callister and Eddie Miller, negative, won over Preston's squad. Results of the one-act play contest wil! be announced Tuesday. First place winners will compete in an interdistrict meet at Rexburg next Friday.
