More Obituaries, A7, A8, A9 Iowa Mary Jane Palmer Mary Jane Palmer, 92, formerly formerly of Muscatine, died Tuesday, Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at the Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, at the Ralph J. Online condolences for the Palmer family may be left at www.wirnchfuneralhome.com. Mary Jane was born on April 5, 1916, in Muscatine, the daughter of Roy L. and Elsie Elsie Shoemaker Middleton. Her first marriage was to Edward Miller and she later married Raymond Palmer on Dec. 31, 1948. She had worked for Kranz Florist as a bookkeeper and floral designer. She also had worked for Hunter's TV Sales and Service as a bookkeeper, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, and was a 56-year 56-year 56-year member of the Women of the Moose and a 55-year 55-year 55-year member of their Academy of Friendship. Friendship. She was also a member of the Lady Eagles and a member of the Retiree Club Local 537 Operating Engineers. She was a volunteer for Lifeline at Unity Unity Hospital for several years and also worked with Meals On Wheels. She enjoyed traveling traveling and took many trips after retiring. She also enjoyed playing playing cards and socializing with friends. Survivors include her children, children, Edward Miller, Mesa, Ariz., Duane Ruggles, Kingman, Kingman, Ariz., and Joyce Milli-gan, Milli-gan, Milli-gan, West Palm Beach, Fla.; her stepdaughters, Merle Brown, Cambridge, and Linda Wise and husband, Dave, Moline; Moline; a grandson, Rob Miller, Muscatine, whom she and Ray raised; 12 grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; 21 greatgrandchildren; greatgrandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; stepgreat-grandchildren; stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sifter, sifter, Viola Wachs, Lynnwood, Wash.
