A U S Indian Josef navigation REV. ARTHUR MARSHALL HAYES, 39. of Marion Center, died Monday, Sept. 1. 1969, at the Presbyterian-University Hospital, Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a rief illness. Born April 11, 1930, in Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, he was a son of Mr. Mrs. F. L. Hayes. Rev. Hayes was currently serving as pastor of the Presbyterian Presbyterian Church of Marion Center. He had recently returned tsrael where, as a staff archaeologist archaeologist for the Carneigie Institute, Institute, he had participated in excavations excavations at Ashdod. Rev. Hayes graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and Western Theological bemmary. i He was ordained in 1956 and; served churches in Ohio before coming to Marion Center in Recording secretary of t Presbyterian Historical Society, ic was also a member of Indiana County Historical Society Society and the Marion Center Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a member of board of the Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh. Surviving are his wife, Elinor Louise Walls Hayes; two sons: Robert Lynn and Peter Allen, of Marion Center; his mother, Mrs. Helen Marshall Hayes of Point Breeze. He was preceded in death his father and a brother. i Friends are being received at the Waples Funeral Home, Baum Blvd. and South Graham St., East Liberty, from 2-4 and 7-10 p.m. Thursday friends will be received at the Crawford Funeral Home, Marion Center, from 4 until 9 p.m. Services be held Friday at 11 a.m. the Presbyterian Church of Marion Center with Dr. John L. Kipp, officiating. Interment will be made in the Oak Grove Cemetery, near New Bethlehem. j
