department Mr. had police held tho the CUSTOMS OFFICIALS SEIZE A LARGE QUANTITY OF LIQUOR A considerable quantity, of liquor was seized last night about 10 o'clock by local customs officials board one of tha vessels belonging to the United States shipping board, which Is laid up here for repairs. Officials refused to divulge the of the vessel. A large amount of the llauor was being transferred land when the seizure was made.' According t6 a customs inspector, the liquor, which is of foreign was in bulk. In connection with the seizure a horse and wagon for transporting the liquor were taken by the customs officials. No arrests were made last nleht by officials. Tho negro dr^er of the wagon was not apprehended, as was Ignorant of the contents. It declared.
