DECORAHLEASES SITE OF AIRPORT Work on Field Will Start Soon; New Air Route Is Considered. D E C O RAH, March 23—Fifty acres of land to be used for an airport airport have been leased from John A. Jewell of Decorah township by the Decorati city council. The consideration consideration was $7 an acre, with alfalfa rights reserved. The land was leased for a period of five years and work will be started on the field before April 1. H. B. Montgomery, president of the L. Tatro Products corporation, has offered to pay §100 a year toward the lease, the' city of Decorah to assume assume the remainder of the expense. A shorter air route may be established established from the Twin Cities, through Iowa City, Rochester and Decorah, going south, when the local-airport is completed. This route is already being considered as' a possibility.
