Bobbie Rae DIXON t o October 17, 1927-May 1927-May 1927-May 21, 2008 Bobbie Rae Dixon, 80, of Sparks, passed away May 21, 2008 at Northern Nevada Medical Center. She was born October 17, 1927 in Casper, WY to Ernest and Ruth (DeFrance) Peterson. Bobbie had been one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 50 years and enjoyed the fellowship with all of the brothers and sisters. Bobbie was a courageous, strong person who survived the battle with cancer 3 times, never complaining. She always tried to keep a positive attitude and encourage others. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her and loved her. Her spirit never wavered, but unfortunately her body gave up the fight. Bobbie had worked at Mark, Fore and Strike for 40 years. Bobbie loved watching her grandchildren, nieces and nephews (and everyone else's children that she adopted as her own) compete in sports, perform in dance and choir. She was an unfailing supporter of all and will be sorely missed at all the local sporting events. Bobbie loved to dance and was an accomplished tap dancer. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, her Father and Mother, Ernest Peterson and Ruth Peterson and her brother Ernie. She is survived by daughters, Janelle Dixon of Sparks; Cheryl Heller of Las Vegas; grandchildren Darren (Rebecca) Heller, Kim (Hal) Jones, Kami Dixon, Justin Puckett,; brother Richard Peterson; sisters Pat Isom, Linda Wright, Debbie Lind, Leann Reed; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Walton Funeral Home in Sparks at 1745 Sullivan Lane on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 3 p.m. A Celebration of Bobbie's life will follow immediately at Pinocchio's in Sparks. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Breast Cancer. Walton Funeral Home in Sparks is entrusted with arrangements.
