Eight Men Under Arrest in Bank ; Robbery Clean-Up. ST. LOUIS', Sept. 18-- -With, men" under arrest, axvthorities of .."southern Illinois and St. Louis . were hopeful of stemming the tide 'bank holdups which, have netted robbers around $200,000 in southern Illinois alone so far this year. The last man captured and identified is Arthur Hornberger, If, who was identified by several witnesses one of the bandits who staged the J12.637 holdup ot the First National Bank of/Columbia, 111., escaping in automobiles and a speedboat to the Mississippi. Â· Â· St. Louis police are holding three other men arrested over the week on a tip from Highland bank officials, Â· aiid identified as members of the gangs which obtained $28,000 in robberies of the Highland and Freeburg, Freeburg, fll., bank robberies. They gaT-e their names as Lester Barth. 25, Henry Honsiek, 24, and Floyd Flood, all ot St. Louis. Four more men are held In jail Belleville, 111., after having been identified by witnesses of the robberies banks at Freeburg and Venice. are J. A. Lunford, wanted for the robbery ot the First National of Freeburg and two robberies of Venice, I1U State bank; A. W. for. the robbery of the Venice bank, and Ralph Southerd and James for the robbery ot the Preeburg The Freeburg bank was held up 'August 23, and 510,558 taken. The loot in the robbery of the of Highland July 29 totalled $18,000.
