Watson Street Fire 1905 : Glasgow's Forgotten Fire that cost 39 lives

19 November 1905, a Model Lodging House in Watson Street, Glasgow was at the centre of a huge fire that killed 39 occupants and injured many. The fire remains one of the hidden and unmarked events in Glasgow's history save for the newspaper accounts of the time. In 2005 the British historian William Cross, FSA Scot marked the 100th anniversary with a short tribute in the booklet " Death in a Lodging House".
