He etood as calm and coal a if he was ensured beforehand of a verdict in his favor. His aged father was not quite so calm. Deathlike silence, broken onlv bv the sob of the, defendants' wive, pervaded the large courtroom as the words, "Not guilty.' fell from the foreman's lips, following which both defendant, were busy several minutes shaking hands with friends.
