John L McPakes Niece Weds In Alhambra Church Ceremony Given in marriage by her maternal maternal uncle and godfather, John L. McPake of San Bernardino, Miss Phyllis Evelyn Phillips, daughter of Mrs. Marguerite Phillips and the late Jack Phillips, Phillips, Alhambra, became the bride of Robert James Wayland, son of Mrs. Mary Wayland and ihe late Frank Wayland, on Saturday, Sept. 13. The wedding ceremony was performed in the St. Therese Catholic church with the Rev. Fr. Martin, O.D.C., officiating. The altar was decorated with white gladioli and chrysanthemums. chrysanthemums. The bride wore a gown of white satin with sweetheart neckline, long sleeves and long bodice trimmed with seed pearls, full skirt and circular train. Her fingertip veil was trimmed with heirloom lace and orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of white carnations and sweet peas. Her two sisters were her attendants, attendants, Mary Barbara Phillips, maid of honor, who wore aqua moire with long gloves to match, and Beverly Ann Phillips, Phillips, who wore shell pink moire with long gloves to match.
