Cloninger-Pounders Cloninger-Pounders Cloninger-Pounders Vows Said Biacksburg Miss Barbara Jeanne Cloninger, of Grover, and Joseph Curtis Pounders, Jr, of Shelby, exchanged wedding wedding vows at the bride's home in the Mt. Paran Community, near Blacksburg, Saturday, May 29, at 4 o'clock in the aft-ernoon. aft-ernoon. aft-ernoon. The Rev. Ernest W. Arnold, of Shelby, officiated at the double ring ceremony. H. Carlisle Cloninger gave his daughter in marriage. For her wedding Miss Cloninger wore a dress of lace over candlelight candlelight satin, styled with a scalloped sweetheart neckline end long sleeves. Her lace veil was attached to a lace and satin satin pillbox hat. She carried a prayer book, gift of the bride's uncle, Chaplain Russell Bojrgs cf Ft. Riley. Kansas. The Bible Bible was topped with a white rrchid and white roses tied v.ith satin ribbon. Miss France Long, of Newton, Newton, N. C, was maid of honor end the bride's only attendant. She wore a light blue, street length dress of organza. The over blouse of organza was embroidered embroidered with scallops. Her Lead piece was a light blue, pink, and white flower petal circular hat with a flirtation eil. She carried a light blue lace fan topped with carnations carnations and tied with ribbons to match her hat. Joseph Curtis Pounders was Lis son's best man. The bride's brother, Carlisle Cloninger, Jr, lit the candles before the ceremony. ceremony. The ceremony was held before the fire place in the liv-irg liv-irg liv-irg room. It was decorated with la-ge la-ge la-ge baskets of white gladioli and fern, and two brass floor-length floor-length floor-length candlebra. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the dining room of the home by the bride's parents. The dining table was covered with sn Irish linen cloth. C Pounders cf Washington, D. a He is a TO 'gra U ATE FROM MEDICAL COLLEGE Wayne Goforth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Goforth of Route 2, will graduate from the Charleston Medical College School of Pharmacy Thursday morning. The Goforths and Mr. and Mrs. William E. Camp of Montgomery Street plan to attend the graduation exercises. exercises. Wayne is married to the former BQlie Ann Camp. Ha has accepted a position in Eas- Eas- graduate of Shelby High School and is now a senior majoring in applied mathematics at N. C. State University in Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. Pounders are on a wedding trip to the coast of South Carolina.
