An Interesting Occasion. There was a large attendance at the union meeting of the Christian Endeavor societies of this city at the Congregational church, near Seventh. street, last night. A splendid programme was rendered. Collector John C. Dancy, president of the union, presided, and made encouraging remarks on the prospects of the societies here and elsewhere. Rev. F. W. Shnms, of the Congregational church,, and Rev. David Brown, of the Presbyterian church, made interesting remarks. Essays were rend by Mrs. M. E. McKen-sie and Misses A. Cash, Lizzie Dry, Florence Jocelyn and J. L. Blowers. An excellent musical programme was rendered by the choir. Much interest was manifested in the meeting, and much good is being done among the young people in the way of their religions progress.
