BENJAMIN HERBST, OF ARBOR, MULES AND DRIVER FALL THIRTY FEET NARROWLY ESCAPES BEING KILLED Arbor. Sept. 13. Benjamin Herbst, ! son of Nathan Herbet. of this place, ; narrowly escaped being killed when a 'large roller, on which he wa seated, driving two mules, plunged over a J 30-foot 30-foot 30-foot embankment. The accident occurred at the ore hole on the farm. ;and the quick Jumping on the part or i young Herbst was all that saved his i mc. The water In the hole Is of srreat denth and the roller went into this and has not been recovered. The j two mjles. which were hurled over backward, fell Into some bushes and were unhurt. Herbst went for assis- assis- tance and a path was dug up trie bank and In this way the animals were gotten out. The traces which had fastened the mules to the roller broke or they would have been pulled Into the water.
