Mayor Balllle presided last night. and Councillors Paquln, Beaton, Wright, (lagnon and MoVlty were present. Secretary Malherbe read five additional complaints which have been received since tha last meeting on Monday ntgbt. Mr. T. P. Foran, K.C., of Hull. U solicitor for the town of Aylmer. He advised that the board of valuators had a perfect right to raise or lower the assessment as they saw fit, and that the council also had power tn alter or accept their valuation. The mayor then suxgeateo tnai tne council should adjourn untlf this afternoon, and a motion to this effect was carried.
