that-; that-; ; j 1 de-; ; I AYLMER TOWN COUNCIL ADJOURNS MEETING UNTIL THIS AFTERNOON Thtxr was nractlcally no business .ransaetcd at the Aylmer oouncll lest night, and the meeting waa adjourned adjourned until one o'clock this afternoon. when all the various complaints made tn connection with the high assess ment will be heard individually by the council, which will sit la com mittee. Mayor Balllle presided last night. and Councillors Paquln, Beaton, Wright, (lagnon and MoVlty were present. Secretary Malherbe read five additional complaints which have been received since tha last meeting on Monday ntgbt. Mr. T. P. Foran, K.C., of Hull. U solicitor for the town of Aylmer. He advised that the board of valuators had a perfect right to raise or lower the assessment as they saw fit, and that the council also had power tn alter or accept their valuation. The mayor then suxgeateo tnai tne council should adjourn untlf this afternoon, and a motion to this effect was carried.
