M. J. Stokes Dies at 72 M. J, Stokes, a resident' of Pampa since 1025, died at a Fort Worth hospital at 3M5 p.m. yes terday following a long, illness.. He waa 72. . . ,' ' A resident at 421 Dwlght, Mr. Stokes had worked for R. G. Hughes as a carpenter since 1942. He came to Pampa from Commerce. Commerce. ' Besides his wife, Amy, he leaves these daughters: Mrs. Oma Cunningham, Panhandle;. Mrs. Bessie King- and Mrs. Ruth White, both of Fort Worth; Mrs. Grace White, Pampa; and Mrs. Faye Fleming, Wichita Falls; two sons, Edgar A., Fort Worth, and Loys, San Antonio; 31 grandchildren, 26 great - grandchildren; three brothers, Rhuben, Lone Oak, Texas, Texas, and Hoyt and Hugh, Pampa; and the following- sisters: Mrs. Ida Castle, Lone Oak; Mrs, Ella Stewart, Pampa; Mrs. Nina Miller, Miller, Canyon; Mrs. Lula Goodwin, Greenville; and Mrs. Alice Me- Nabb, Los Angeles. Funeral services, to be directed by -Duenkel-Carmichael, are pentl ing.
