James Riggs Dead
was of The James niggs Killed James K. (Keith) Riggs, 33, of Shirley, was killed early yesterday morning after .his car struck a tree on Ind. 234 northwest of Kennard. James K. (Keith) Riggs, Rt. I, Shirley, was fatally injured injured at 3:45 o'clock this morning when the car which be driving veered off Ind. 234, northwest of Kennard, and struck a tree head-on. The accident occurred when Riggs, a foreman at the Diamond. Diamond. Container Plant in Castle, lost control of his 1969 Chevrolet truck, running off road 175 feet before returning the highway sliding another feet at which time he again the highway and ran into the tree. Riggs was a life-long resident of the rural Shrley area. born Feb. 14, 1936, lo Mr. and; 110 TM^ Mrs. Chester Riggs and was c ? me mrb. \j[itÂ»Lt;i ivigga aau r*na -. graduated in 1955 from Cadiz rue High School. While in high school he was an outstanding athlete in Softball, baseball basketball and later played independent basehall. Riggs was a member of New Castle Eagles Lodge 933, the John Kura Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 70 of Castle and lhe Cadiz Brotherhood Brotherhood and Sisterhood. He is survived by his wife Deanna; two sons, Robin and Keith Allen, both at his parents; one blither, of Shirley; three sisters, Mrs. Harry (Phyllis) Bpze of Anderson, Anderson, Mrs. Ronnie (Marlene) Sowers of New Castle and Jama Sue Riggs of Shirley; paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Sam Riggs of Middletown and several aunts, uncles, nieces nieces and nephews. The body was taken to lhe Condo and Sons Funeral at Wilkinson where services will be held Monday at 2 with the Rev. Marion Cromwell officiating. Friends will be received received at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
