Great Throng Expected at Annual Swedish Fete This Afternoon T Dr. A. T. Seashore HOUSANDS of Swedish-Amer-1 leans from Sioux City and the surrounding territory are expected to attend the annual Swedish midsummer festival, which will be held, at Riverside park this afternoon 1 and evening. The festival will ba divided into three parts—a speaking and singing program, -which will start at 2:30 m.; an athletic program, which will begin at 4:15 p. m., and a concert, ly tho world famous Monahan post l>anc! at 6:30 p. m. A picnic Eupper will be h«lil at the close of tho athletia program. Speakers at tho festival will Include J. A. Johnson, Rev. G. F. Forsberg and Dr. A. Si-ashore, Wahoo, Neb. Several numbers wi!! be sung by the Fwedish Glee club. The athletic program will Include, the following events: 25-yard dash, boys and girls, 10 years old and less: 25-yard dash, "girls, 10 to H year*; 50-yard dash, boys, 10 to 14 years; peanut race for married women; 50-yard dash, girls 15 to 70 years; 50-yard dash, boys. 15 to f>9 years; 50-yard dash, fat men, 200 pounds and more; tup of war, married men vs. single men, and a soccer ball gaino between the Vikings and the Vasa teams. Prizes will bo offered to the winners of nil events. Firms and Individuals that havo donated prizes for tbe winners of Rev. O. F.
