1922-03-28 WHITAKER, MRS - DAUGHTER OF MRS WILLIAM VEALE.
MARY VEALE SURPRISED COLTON, March 27. The four teenth birthday anniversary of Mary Veale furnished opportunity for her fellow members in Mrs- Mrs- Whitaker's Sunday School class to celebrate with her at a surprise festivity planned this evening by her mother, Mrs. William Veale. The dozen young girls met at the Whitaker home early in the evening and went en masse to the Veale home on East G Street. They found the house aglow with light and lovely in decorations of peach blossoms, blossoms, ferns and violets, and the hostess-honor hostess-honor hostess-honor hostess-honor guest quite unsuspecting. Games and music were soon under way and kept the group very happily happily entertained until Mrs. Veale invited invited them into the dining room for a supper of sandwiches, hot chocolate, chocolate, cake and candy. The cake was iced in white with an alternate pink and white layer and was lighted by 14 white candles Jn pink holders. Confections were also in pink and white.
