HAROLD SHIGLEY Faculty and administrative personnel appointments have been completed for the Buffalo campus of Houghton College, formerly Buffalo Bible Institute. The combined count there is 11, three of whom are part-time or commute between both campuses. Named Academic Dean at the new campus is E. Harold Shigley, long-tine teacher and administrator, formerly of Marion College, Marion, Indiana. Dr. Shigley graduated from Marion in 1943, with a B.A. and B. S. in Education. Later he took a Master of religion degree and earned his M. A. from the University of Alabama in 1948. Ten years later he completed his Ed.D. at Indiana University. He served as Registrar and Dean of Admissions of Central College (S.C.) between 1948 and 1953. Then, until 1964, Dr. Shigley served in various positions at Marion College. Included were Director of Physical Education, Director of Elementary Education, Director of Student Teaching and Dean of Students. From 1964 until he accepted the Buffalo post he was principal of a Marion elementary school. While living in Marion, Indiana he was a member of the Education and Youth Incentive Committee of the Urban League, a member of the Y.M.C.A., and was Assistant District Commissioner of Boy Scouts of America. During World War II, he served overseas in the Signal Corps. Dr. and Mrs. Shigley have six daughters and a son.
