Parents ask damages in son's death The parents of a welder electrocuted in an accident in Wickenburg Dec. 2 filed suit in federal court yesterday seeking $450,000 damages. Named as defendants were Arizona Public Service Co., Reliance Trucking Co. and , Perry W. Ratliff Jr., driver of the truck in which Brad D. Wenger was riding at the time of the accident. The suit, brought by Merril and Elizabeth Wenger, of Las Vegas, charges the three defendants defendants were negligent and, as a result, caused the death of Wenger, 23, a welder with Acme Boiler Repair-Certified Welding Service Inc., Bullhead Bullhead City. The suit charged that Reliance Reliance Trucking was hired by young Wenger's employer to transport a 29,000-pound prefabricated prefabricated steel tank from Bullhead City to Ft. McDowell. McDowell. . When the truck arrived in Wickenburg, it found the 17- foot height, of the truck and its load did not clear power lines of Arizona Public Service Service Co. Young Wenger climbed on top of the truck and attempted attempted to move the power lines. After he moved one, it brushed against another, completing completing a circuit and electrocuting electrocuting the young welder. The suit seeks $150,000 damages damages from each of the three defendants. No hearing date has been set.
