mm cody STOPS TECH, 5-0 Tom Cody hurled a one-hit shutout yesterday as Milford High school's baseball team blanked the Bullard-Havens Tech Tigers, 5-0. at the Tech field and earned a split in the two-game season series Detween these Metropolitan Bridgeport confer ence rivals. Bullard-Havens trounced Milford, 10-3, on Mav 7. Tech pitcher Bob IVturphy go! the only hit allowed hy Cody when he rapped a single "through the middle of the diamond in the fourth inning. The Tigers threatened Cody's shutoiil in the fifth inning when two walks and an error loaded the bases with only one nut. but the Milford senior pitched himself out of the jam hy striking Dut Pete Oleu- oski and Murphy :n succession. Cody aiso started at bat for the fndians, rVttine fwo sinales. while Lou Richitelli drove in three runs and Freshman Bill Holsion' knocked in two runs for Milford. The Indians broke up a senre- less duel belween Cody and Murphy with two runs in the fmirlh inning. . A single by Ted Kosl-zewski, an error y Tech third-baseman Tom Ribnicky, a force- !i stolen bace and Holston s bad-hop single over the head of Tech second-baseman Len Ian-cale produced the runs.
