Supervisors Curtis and Jenkins yesterday went out into the country to examine ihe route over which certain iarmers residing in the eastern part of the county have asked for a road to run from the Sheldon grant line road to the Placerville road near Hangtown Crossing. They were met at the railroad by Messrs. A. Dunlap and Peter Sculp, who took them over the proposed route. The -supervisors say they were treated royally by these gentlemen, one ol whom had prepared a delicious lunch, which was partaken of.en route, and at the home of the other (Mr. Dunlap; they were given a superb dinner. They reported to the board on their return that the surplus chicken crop out that way has been greatly reduced," and that an immediate advance in the market rate for poultry may be looked for. Incidentally the gontlemen remarked that the road petitioned for is, in their judgment, a public necessity, and should be opened. The entire report was adopted by the board, and when it again becomes necessary to view a road in that part of the county ail the mem bers propose to participate therein.
