BENJ. p. RICE PASSES AWAY ftT DECATUR, nECATUK. Ind Nov. 24. Benjamin Benjamin Pendleton Rice, sixty - nine, native native of Root township, this county, is dead after, several weks' Illness of kidney' and heart trouble. Death occurred occurred at his i'ome on N. Seventh street. Mr. Rice was born In Root township this county, August 2Q, 1848, beinff a eon of Benjamin J. and Mary Pillars Pillars Rice. lie was n veteran lumberman lumberman and quarry owner of this city. lie was married February 19. 1867. to Mis Elizabeth Hirt, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Hart, late of this city. The widow anil the following children survive: Harvey D. Rice, Decatur; Nora, wife of Mel Butler, Decatur; Maude O'Kelley. of Florence, Oregon; David J. Rica, Lincoln. Neb.: Blanche, wife of Elmer Elier. of Akron, Ohio. Mr. Rice waa one - of ten children, five of whom are llrlng. They are: John and James Rice, Decatur; David, of Root township: Mrs. Jonas Cllne, Root township; Mrs. Elizabeth Wag - , oner, Fort Wayne. Those deceased are Will, Rice, Mary Bice, Davy Rice, Rachel Rice Blossom, Millard F. Rice. The funeral will b Monday arter - noon at two o'clock from the Methodist Methodist church, the Rev. T F. Thornburg officiating. Interment will be ln; the Decatur cemetery.
