Chalmer J. Finkle Chalmer J. Finkle, 66, of 214 Eleventh St., Huntingdon, died Monday morning, Oct. 16, 1978 at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Huntingdon. He had been in failing health for four years. Born Dec. 21, 1911, in Brady Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of William W. and Nellie (Snack) Finkle. He married the former Janet Lou Lang in Luray, Va., on May 20, 1959. He is survived by his wife and one son, Gary A. Finkle, Baltimore, Md. Also surviving are a sister and four brothers: Mrs. Edna Cressman, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Chester, James and Charles Finkle, all of Mill Creek; and Harold (Bill) Finkle of Ebensburg. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Finkle was of the Protestant faith. He was also a member of Standing Stone Post 1754, VFW, Huntingdon, having served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He attended schools in both Mill Creek and Mapleton Depot. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Glass Sand Corp., Mapleton Depot, for 38 years. At the time of his retirement in 1974, he was supervisor of the Juniata mills. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m., at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Jerry A. Cline officiating. Interment will be made in the Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Huntingdon Huntingdon R.D.4. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the services on Wednesday.
