(Mike) Gallagher, 68 - year - old descendant of one of Nueces County's early settlers, will be recited at 8:30 p.m. today at his resi dence, 3767 Macleod. The body will be taken to the home this afternoon from Maxwell P Dunne Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Theresa's Catholic Church with the Rev. Damien · Wewers as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Gallagher, a colorful farm and ranch personality for half a century, died in a local nospital at 3:50 p.m. yesterday. He had been ill for 16 months and was taken to the hospital earlier this week. Born in 1S91, he spent his life, with the exception of a period of military service in World War I. on South Texas ranches and farms. Until his illness, he was manager of the Santa Fe Ranch, a position he had held since 1935. Gallagher was associated with King and Chapman land interests all his adult life. He was employed in the Laureles Division of the King Ranch when Phillip A. Chapman Sr. bought 34.000 acres of the division from a a defeated the King interests in 1919.
