The final day of March Quarter Sessions opened at 9 o'clock this morning to4 dispose of the murder case, the last of three listed since last September. Lottie Hammaker was brought into the courtroom at 9.12 o'clock and was seated directly behind her attorneys, fronting the court and the jury box. Lottie Hammaker is defended by John B. Geyer and B. Frank Nead. The prosecution is being conducted by District Attorney John Fox Weiss. At the opening of the case the courtroom was occupied by Jurors and witnesses only, but as the morning progressed the room began to fill. Great interest was manifested In the case, but the crowd was orderly and the tipstaves had little trouble preserving quiet. "Lottie Hammaker, how say ymi. guilty or not guilty?" read the clerk of the courts from the Indictment. "Not guilty," answered the defendant in a clear, unfaltering voice. Her manner throughout the morning was unchanged. She sat most of the time with her fingers on her chin, glancing alternately from the Judge to the District Attorney and her counsel. If she was under any strain she did not show It by her behavior. The calling of the jury began at 9.2 5 o'clock. Four men were called before the first man was selected. He was George W.
