Steelworker in Salt Lake William John Meecham, 41, 467 W. 4th S. died Sunday in a Salt Lake hospital after a brief illness. He was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Provo to George E. and Ramola John Meecham. He attended school in Provo graduating from Proro High School and attended Brigham Young University. Hit entered the Army Air Force in 1942 and served in Mr. Meecham the Asiatic-Pac- tific theater and in India receiving Ms discharge in 19)6. After returning to Provo he was employed at Geneva Steel Co. He married Lena L. Keeland Sept. 14, 1943 in Washington, D.C. He was a member of the LDS Church and belonged to Provo Lodge No. 849, BPOE, and Geneva Local 2701, United Steelworkers of America. His hobbies were hunting and fishing. Surviving are his widow; one son, William John Meecham Jr.; his father and one brother, Elmo, all of Provo. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. at Berg Drawing Room Chapel. Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 6 to 8 p. m. and Wednesday prior to services. Burial win be in Provo City Cemetery with military honors by Dean MendenhaH Provo Post No. 13, American Legion.
