S/Sgt. James H. Billington, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Billington of Ackerty, is a ball turret gunner on a B-17 of the 96th Bomb Group. The sergeant's group flew more than 320 bombing attacks on Germany, Germany, and also on the initial Eighth Airforce "mercy mission" to marooned Dutch civilians. Before entering the army in November, 1943, Sgt. Billington was employed as a welder for the Moore Dry Dock Co., of Oakland, Calif. • * * | ! !
