3 Killed In 2 Crashes MILFORD, Mich. (AP) - A Farmington man watched his wife die Sunday, a victim of one of two separate air crashes which took five lives that day. I>eonard Grainger was the passenger in a second plane, piloted piloted by a friend, and watched the plane carrying his wife and two other friends crash at about 4 p.m. near Kensington Park in Uvingston County. Grainger told police the rudder fell off the plane carrying his wife Hazel, 54, and Mr. and Mrs. John, 47, and Eleanor Chadwick of Livonia. Chadwick was piloting the plane, and the two groups were flying into Owosso for dinner. The second crash, in which two persons were killed, happened about 40 minutes later and seven miles away near Six Mile and Dixboro Roads in Washtenaw CQunty. Police said a light plane, piloted piloted by William J. Welch. 25, of Detroit, went into a tailspin from about 1.500 feet and crashed killing Welch and his passenger, Joel J. Gardynik, 20, of Garden City.
