TAKETESTIMONY 1 CALLIN CASE After spending all day Thursday in obtaining . a Jury, the entire venire of 36 men being exhausted before this was accomplished, the case of the state against Dr. F. B. Callin proceeded Friday in Judge Doyle's court. Dr Callin is charged with performing a criminal operation operation on Mrs. Clara Shinn. Both she and her husband, Charles Shinn, testified. There were many men in the venire who are friends of Dr. Callin. Others held that the fact that an indictment had been returned against him was sufficient to prejudice prejudice their mind, holding that unless unless there had been sufficient evidence, evidence, the grand Jury would not have indicted. Besides Mr. and Mrs. Shinn, Prosecutor C. G. Roetzel will place on the stand several physicians who performed an operation "to save Mrs. Shlnn's life." as tha tor said in his opening statement. 'Attorney G. M. Anderson, In his statement, denied the allegations of the prosecutor. These men were selected as Jurors: Jurors: C. 0. Sprenkel, E. J. Viers, Charles Den-mead, Den-mead, Den-mead, Perry Bixler, F. G. Stipe, George Dlmric, R. F. Weaver, R. H. Braucher, Jacob Rose, 0. J. Kline, William Allen, Chris Lambacher. Mr. and Mrs. Shlnn Friday related the happenings up to and including the visit to the physician's office on April 29 and events following at the Peoples hospital. An effort was made by Attorney G. M. Anderson, representing Dr. Callin, to show that Shinn was prejudiced prejudiced and had appeared before several grand juries.
