Carpenter, Thelma Curtis has passed away in Safford , Arizona after a century of life. She was born in San Jose , Arizona on December 27, 1908 to Amnion and Mary Jane Slade Curtis. Thelma married married Jim Carpenter on October 8, 1927 . They lived and farmed in the Gila Valley all their lives, raising their four children first in Sanchez, then Thatcher. Preceding her in death are her husband, parents, seven siblings and three children: Leona Udall, Jerald -Carpenter, -Carpenter, and Gorden Carpenter. Surviving are one brother, Fred Curtis, of Mesa , Arizona ; one son Cloyd Carpenter, of Gilbert, twenty-five twenty-five twenty-five grandchildren, 107 great grandchildren, and 77 great great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 10:00 at the Church Street Chapel in Thatcher, Arizona , with viewing prior from 8:30 until 10:00 . Interment will be at the Thatcher Cemetery. Arrangements Arrangements are under the direction of the Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
