Television Pioneer Dead at 79 WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (UPI)- (UPI)- Roscoe H. George, 79, who helped pioneer the sending of pictures by television, will be buried Wednesday. He died Sunday at Home hospital hospital in West Lafayette. Funeral services for him will be Wednesday here, Soller-Baker Soller-Baker Soller-Baker funeral home officials said. George worked with others in the 1930s., on television transmission and he worked on the black-and-white black-and-white black-and-white black-and-white black-and-white picture tube in connection with Radio Corporation of America. He was a Purdue University professor of electrical engineering, engineering, retired in 1965. He began his Purdue career as an undergraduate. A native of Fairmount, he was graduated from the Fair-mount Fair-mount Fair-mount Academy in 1915 and served in World War I. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Rosa George.
