Ho was an active and unions membor of tho Methodist Church ml a faithful Sunday School worker so >ug as his health permitted his attend- uce. A beautiful incident in this connection, as the warm affection shown this faith - nl teacher by his ohiss of boys in the unday School, who never failed to visit im every Sunday during his months f confinement thro' illness and who howed him many tokens of attachment t all times. One, it is said, visited him aily while ho was ill, mid that was early tho entire Sninmer. A kindly and courteous geu- leniaii, he possessed also the artistic mperaniont and in past years occupied s a studio the store now tenanted by ho Misses Potty, on Main street, where ie produced some works of uuconmiou lerit, several of which are still to bo bund in village homes.
