Former Prisoner Of Japs Succumbs DeRidder, Sept. 5 (Special). Funeral services for Mayo G. Stephenson. 27. World War II vet eran. will e held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hixson chapel with the Rev. W. J. Reid officiating. Stephenson was found dead Sunday morning alongside highway highway 90 near Dayton, Texas, where he had suceumed to a heart ailment. ailment. He was in a Japanese prison camp for 3V2 years after he was captured on Bataan at the outset of war. Military services services will be held at the graveside graveside by the American Legion. Survivors are his father, C. E. Stephenson, DeRidder; five brothers, brothers, J. S. Stephenson, Baton Rouge. H. W. Stephenson, Jackson, Miss., C. H. Stephi-nson, Stephi-nson, Stephi-nson, DeRidder, R. L. Stephenson. Columbia, and Jack S. Stephenson, Ft. Bayard, New Mexico; and one sister, Mrs. T. D. Allen. Houston, Texas. Burial wil! be in New DeRidder cemetery with Hixson funeral home in charge.
