Heilen-man, Heilen-man, Heilen-man, a retired Methodist preacher, preacher, celebrated his eighty-fifth eighty-fifth eighty-fifth birthday Saturday. His parents were not able to give him an education, so he worked for a farmer at $7 a month and board. Fe attended the Alexander Terrell Academy in Delaware, Pa., but missed the first month because of farm work. Every day he walked three miles to the academy. For ten years he kept up his studies. For four years he trained under his uncle. a presiding elder. In 18 68 he was ordained. While pastor of the Simpson Church, Long Branch, Mr. Heil-enman Heil-enman Heil-enman wrote editorials for the Long Branch Record, in order, he said, to improve his English and make him a better preacher. The task was a heavy one, but he saved the church 1 from the sherif. Oceanport was his last reg j- j- ! lar charge. It was here Mr. Heilenman succeeded in building an addition to the single room j chapel at a cost of $1,700 when' all others had failed.
