James Herb Joyner Obituary
JAMES "HERB" JOYNER, 65, Blairsville Blairsville RD 5 (Derry Township), died Saturday, Saturday, Feb. 6,1993, at Indiana Hospital. The son of Gleason R. and Edith M. Calhoun Joyner, he was born March 12, 1927, in Black Lick. Mr. Joyner was a member and eider of the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville; Blairsville; Acacia Lodge 355, F&AM, Blairsville; Blairsville; and the Coudersport Consistory. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement in 1984, he had been employed for 29 years at PPG, Greensburg plant. He most recently worked for the Richard L. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville. Surviving are his wife, Catherine D. "Kay" Sherback Joyner; a son, James K., New Stanton; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Richard (Jamie) Marsh, Uniontown, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold, Port Charlotte, Fla., and William "Chet," Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Garnett T. Clark Joyner; a sister, Frances Folckemer; and a brother, Robert. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the Richard L. Shoemaker Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Dr. Roger D. Petersen officiating. Interment will follow in Blairsville Cemetery with military honors conducted by members of Blairsville Blairsville VFW Post 5821.. Acacia Lodge 355, F&AM, will hold services at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
