OAKLAND HIGH STUDENTS PETITION FOR SWIMMING POOL Students of Oakland High School petitioned the City Council yester-; c&y afternoon to give right-of-way to construction of the proposed swimming pools and sidetrack the "rumored replacing of lights around Lake Merritt" .The petition signed by 214 students said that "we i believe it is more important to 1 build the five swimming, pools promised by the voters at a recent bond election before the string of lights are installed."
