Watchmen >a ranee ^Scheduled ^DECKER'S POINT — The Watchmen Quartet of Clymer, wjjl be presenting a concert of gospel music at the Calvary $fble Church on Aug. 1, Roch- "elter Mills Rd., at Deckers 2 WThe Watchmen Quartet, one $£the most prominent gospel gjrpups in the Tri-state Area, had its first beginnings at a •community hymn-sing in t M[arch of 1968. Since that time, the Quartet has had the opportunity to tour extensively throughout Western Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Maryland, and Kentucky. I The Watchmen are a group Of individuals dedicated to the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by way of song. The members of the group include: Jim Roach, who sings bass and plays Hawaiian guitar; John Abraham, baritone; Ken Abraham, lead; Howard Abraham Jr., bass guitarist and tenor; and Mrs. Minnie Abraham, the very capable pianist who gives the Watchmen a distinctive and unique "down home" gospel sound. It is the aim of The Watchmen Quartet to help people realize that Christianity could, and should, be the greatest joy of life. The group constantly attempty to project this attitude in their singing. Their effect is quite contemporary as they strive to put new life and meaning into the old hymns of the church. A cordial welcome is extended to all to attend this inspirational program of gospel music.
